Spring's Most Instagrammable Day Trip

Welcome to the Cornella Canola Walk at Shiraz Republic, where, for just nine magical weeks each year, visitors can wander through a sea of vibrant yellow blooms without damaging the crops.

Located just under an hour from BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park, it's the perfect excuse for a scenic day trip.

Most canola crops are closed to the public to protect them from disease and damage, so opportunities like this are incredibly rare. Thankfully, the team at Shiraz Republic has created a dedicated walking trail and viewing platform through a 40-hectare canola field, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in one of Victoria's most spectacular seasonal displays while keeping the crop safe.

Whether you're chasing the perfect family photo, updating your Instagram feed, or simply soaking up the beauty of spring, this is one of those experiences you'll remember long after the flowers have faded.

The blooms only last a short time, making this a true seasonal event.

Once they're gone, you'll need to wait until next year!

After wandering through the brilliant yellow flowers and snapping plenty of photos, there's plenty more to enjoy onsite.

Treat yourself to a wine tasting at the cellar door, grab a wood-fired pizza, sample a locally brewed beer from Cornella Brewery, or simply relax with a drink overlooking the vineyards. There's even a game of pool if you're not quite ready to head home.

The Cornella Canola Walk is around 55 minutes from BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park, making it an easy and enjoyable day trip during your stay.

After a morning wandering through the fields, you can explore nearby Heathcote's wineries and boutique shops, then return to the park for a swim, a barbecue, or simply put your feet up after a day of exploring.

Just remember—this colourful spectacle is only around for nine weeks each year, so don't leave it too late to plan your visit!
